An amazing trail run to enjoy taking in the Lake District four passes of Sty Head Tarn, Black Sail, Scarf Gap and Honister.

The first pass climbs up to Sty Head Tarn between the Scafell Massif and Great Gable before you then drop into the beautiful but always dramatic Wasdale (Cumbria’s deepest lake). Onto the second which is a technical and underestimated, Black Sail Pass and then the third a sharp climb up to Scarth Gap, which happens to be the easiest ascent of the day and gives views of Haystacks, Wainwrights resting place to the right. The fourth is a tough climb on tired leg, winding up an old miners path and taking you to the top of Honisters Pass before returning down to Rosthwaite.
