Fell Runner

I’ve been a competitive runner from an early age and have always competed on the track, in cross country races and in junior fell races. From the three disciplines, fell racing is my true passion and living in the South Pennines close to Hebden Bridge is an ideal training ground for me.

Last season I started to take my training seriously under the guidance of coach Mark Goldie and the results have been fantastic. I gained selection to run for England as an U20 in the Junior Home International in Ireland, I was part of the Calderdale Way Relay winning team with my Calder Valley team mates, I won my first senior fell race, and, I managed to become the joint FRA U23 English Champion sharing this honour with Max Wainwright.

There have also been frustrations and I have a bit of a reputation for leading races but managing to get lost on the way to the finish line… Something for me to work on as I definitely need to spend more time on planning and pre race recces.
I am now training harder than ever and I can feel that both my speed and endurance have developed significantly over the winter. I am looking forward to this season and running with the Mountain Fuel team, some of whom are truly world class athletes. To run and train with athletes of this calibre is great honour at my age.

My ambitions are a GB mountain running vest this year. Also to maintain my U23 English fell running champion title.
